Unspoilt and full of hidden gems, the Kintyre Peninsula is also famous for whisky and great golf. Known as "Scotland's only mainland island" and immortalised in the song "Mull of Kintyre",the Kintyre Peninsula is approximately 40 miles long and is the gateway to the Southern Hebridean islands of Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura. Kintyre has great walks and lush countryside, beautiful sandy beaches and 5 golf courses. It is also a haven for wildlife with seal colonies, deer and majestic birds of prey to be admired.

Easy to get to - Caledonian MacBray ferries, A83 from Glasgow or fly to Campbeltown Airport (airport transfers can be provided.)

Directions to site:

Located just north of the village of Tayinloan in the small hamlet of Rhunahaorine, you will find the site well signposted off the main A83. The site entrance is opposite Rhunahaorine Primary School, through the farm and approaching along a tarmac drive (speed bumps!) towards the beach fronted site.

Easy to get to - Caledonian MacBrayne ferries, A83 from Glasgow or fly to Campbeltown Airport (airport transfers can be provided.) www.calmac.com

By road from Glasgow - A83 towards Inverary, on to Lochgilphead, Tarbert and then Tayinloan.

By road from Oban (65 miles) or Fort William - take the A816 out of Oban to Lochgilphead and then the A83 to Campbeltown, through Tarbert to Tayinloan.

From Fort William (128 miles) - A82, A85 and the A83 as above.

From Arran (34 miles) - Take the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Claonaig (Arran)- Lochranza the B8001 towards Tarbert and then the A83 to Tayinloan.

From Islay & Jura - Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Kennacraig, turn right onto A83 continue for 11 miles to Point Sands.

Ferry transfers for foot passengers can be arranged from Tarbert, Lochranza or Kennacraig. Please call for details.
