Description of site - Our small working sheep farm and ADULT ONLY CL site is situated in the beautiful south east Cornish countryside in an area of great landscape value. Ashdon Farm is south facing giving uninterrupted, panoramic views over our 100 acres of pasture meadows and woodland. The caravan site itself consists of one acre of land, partly sloping, which is closely mown with hard standing pitches and electric hook-ups (16A). Motor homes are welcome.

We are located on the border between Cornwall and Devon, providing an ideal base to explore both counties. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers. Local National Trust properties include Cotehele House just ten minutes drive away, Antony House and Lanhydrock House. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mount Edgcumbe, The Garden House, Buckland Abbey, the home of Sir Francis Drake, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moors are easily reached.

The site is adjacent to our beautiful woodland and lakes which are available exclusively for the use and enjoyment of Caravan Club members. We have spent the past 25 years creating a natural wildlife haven around our ponds and lakes with plantings of azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons and conifers. In spring the woodland floor is carpeted with snowdrops, native daffodils and primroses followed by bluebells and red campion. For the avid bird watcher our resident wild birds include kingfisher, buzzard, kestrel, long tailed tit, tree-creeper, nuthatch and skylark to mention just a few.

On our doorstep is the world famous Jack Nicklaus designed course at St Mellion Golf and Country Club for those wishing to enjoy a challenging round on this picturesque 18 hole course which is one mile from our site.

Come and explore the beautiful Tamar Valley on our doorstep which has gained international recognition from UNESCO for specific mine sites, landscapes, towns and villages within Cornwall and west Devon. Morwellham Quay is a popular tourist destination offering a unique day out for all the family as featured on BBC’s Edwardian Farm. Tavistock and Launceston are two traditional market towns that still maintain their individual charm and character offering many family run shops and restaurants.

The nearby maritime city of Plymouth offers an abundance of attractions including the National Marine Aquarium, the largest in the UK, on the historic Barbican. The pilgrim fathers set sail for America from the Mayflower Steps in 1620.

Take a boat trip past the Naval Dockyard, under I.K. Brunel’s rail bridge at Saltash, passing Pentillie Castle and Cotehele Quay to Calstock on the peaceful, scenic River Tamar. The quaint fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey are within an easy drive offering an array of shops, restaurants and boat trips. The Cornish Coastal Path will give you wonderful views of the sea and land. We have many leaflets and brochures to help make your stay memorable.

The nearest shops and petrol station can be found in Callington, two miles away.
