PENROSE FARM is a level, sheltered, touring only park on the edge of the village of Goonhavern. The 100 pitches are spread over 5 fields with flowerbeds and bushes set amongst them. These flowers, and those at the entrance to the park, are very colourful and give the park a neat orderly and well cared for feel. The very caring owners, Alan and Sharman, take great delight in getting to know their customers, many of whom come every year, and they take great pride in the facilities they provide. The refurbished toilet block is tiled throughout, has vanity style washbasins, adjustable showers with stool and 4 excellent (private) family rooms containing an adjustable shower, washbasin, WC and hairdryer. One of these rooms is also accessible for wheelchairs. All these amenities are enhanced with beautiful pot plants and flowers. Children have a superb adventure playground and an indoor animal centre with guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens for all to stroke and cuddle plus fish, terrapins and birds to admire. Reception has tourist information and a small shop sells basic needs (May to Sept). The laundry is well equipped and dishwashing sinks are provided, all with free hot water. Dogs are allowed on leads and a large exercise field is provided. Alan is constantly re-appraising the pitches, always trying to ensure that each unit has plenty of space and doesn't feel overcrowded. It really is a very neat and tidy well run park. It is only a short walk to the village and its popular pub, and buses to Newquay and Truro stop in the village. The superb beach at Perranporth is only two and a half miles away, fishing 1 mile. To ensure that the site retains its quiet family image, there are no plans for bars or entertainment and only couples and families are admitted.

Coming from the East, take the A30 from Exeter and continue past Bodmin and Indian Queens. Shortly after the Wind Farm, take the B3285 to Perranporth, Penrose Farm is on the left as you enter Goonhavern village.
