Description of site.

Bishop Auckland lies in the Upper Wear Valley and is the gateway to the North Pennines with many site-seeing, rambling and industrial archaeological experiences. Club site is half a mile from Town centre. It is open grassland next to the River Wear, adjacent to signposted 'Weardale Way". In the town centre is the Tourist Information, shopping facilities and 2 supermarkets. Site is within walking distance of Bishop's Palace and Escomb Saxon Church. Basic facilities on site: - water, rubbish disposal, chemical toilet point. Monday-Friday only - 2 electric hook-ups available by arrangement. Also available by arrangement are - On site toilet facilities and Showering. Durham City and Cathedral 20 minutes drive away.

Directions to site:

Leave Bishop Auckland town centre following directions for Crook. Do not pass over the Viaduct, but follow the old route (Newton Cap Bank) down towards the river. Before the river crossing, turn left at Rugby Club sign, along Bridge Road, following the river to the West Mills playing field and sign for Bishop Auckland Rugby Club.
