Description of site.

Heron's Pond is situated half a mile out of Crakehall village, just 2 miles from the market town of Bedale. A regular bus service runs through the village, meandering through Wensleydale to Hawes or, in the other direction, to Bedale/Northallerton. By car one can be in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park within half an hour or into the Yorkshire Moors National Park within 1 hour. The site consists of 9 well-spaced pitches, each with gravelled all-weather standing and grass picnic area; 10 amp electric hookup; own water tap, all nicely landscaped within the main lawned surroundings. The immaculate amenities consist of shower, washroom and toilets. A long avenue of trees and a 2 acre meadow are provided solely for the use of our visitors and their dogs. Access to the site is via a security barrier.

Directions to site:

From Bedale proceed through the town on the A684 (Bedale to Leyburn) for about 0.52 mile and take the 1st left turn (signposted Newton-le-Willows). At the 2nd crossroads in about 1 mile (white house on left) turn right (signposted Crakehall) and proceed over the small railway crossing for another 200yards or so. Heron's Pond is on the right, clearly marked.

If travelling from the Leyburn direction, pass right through Crakehall village towards Bedale until you reach the aforementioned turning, now, very sharp on your right (signposted to Newton-le-Willows) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SHORT CUT THROUGH THE BACK LANE OF CRAKEHALL.
