Hillcrest Park

Home Page

Description of site.

Hillcrest Park is our rural, 6 acre, holiday location in one of the northernmost of the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale. Surrounded by farmland, it offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Teesdale – yet is only 10 minutes from the A66. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog owners (we have a dog walking field onsite) and is close to Richmond, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall, Raby Castle and a host of other Dales attractions.

Hillcrest was once a working farm, but the outbuildings have been converted into holiday cottages and part of the site is now provided with electric hook up points for touring caravans. And, for those who want all the pleasure of camping and outdoorsiness, but without the hassle of wet tents on a windy day, we also have timber Camping Pods. Most importantly, we aim to offer all our guests a comfortable, get-away-from-it all, rural retreat.

We have three Camping Pods for hire: the small one which sleeps 2 adults and 2 children and costs £30 per night, and two Family Pods which sleep 5 adults and cost £40 per night. They are solidly built, insulated wooden huts that provide comfortable accommodation. They have electricity, good headroom, a carpeted interior floor area and a forward projecting porch to provide shelter if the doors are open. There is timber decking providing somewhere to sun-bathe, prepare food or hang your wet gear. The window and lockable French doors are double glazed and the Cumbrian sheep's wool insulation and fitted heater means that the Pod really is a year-round option. There is a small window in the back wall that provides both light and ventilation and the lamp and two electric sockets add that little bit of extra comfort and convenience. There is a cycle storage area on site and we can also hire out camping packs and, naturally, you have full use of our C/H showers, loos, dishwashing and laundry facilities.
