Humble Bee Farm CS

Home Page

Description of site.

Humble Bee Farm’s caravan, camping, wigwams and cottages nestle in a peaceful valley in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. A 320-acre arable and livestock farm that has been passed father to son, Humble Bee Farm offers great accommodation in an idyllic part of the world and is ideally located for those wanting a relaxing holiday ‘down on the farm’, where you can make friends with the farm animals, collect fresh eggs for breakfast and meet our inquisitive Aylesbury ducks. The farm is also great for those who enjoy coastal life – we get a lot of visiting surfers, as we are close to Cayton Bay, Scarborough’s North and South Bays and Filey Bay. The Yorkshire Coast is fast becoming a surfer’s paradise.

For those who enjoy walking, the Wolds Way National Trail borders the farm, and we also have way-marked walks around the fields and meadows of Humble Bee. Our shop includes a wealth of information about places to visit – you are spoilt for choice in this part of Yorkshire, with the coast nearby, the North York Moors National Park within easy distance, attractions galore and numerous towns and cities to explore.

A word about our wigwams and cottages. We have four fully heated wigwams, each of which sleep up to five people. Each wigwam has its own picnic table adjacent and we provide the following: mattresses, microwave, toaster, fridge, items, barbeque and kettle. All you need to bring are sleeping bags and pillows, towels and toiletries, tea towels and washing up facilities, cooking utensils, cutlery and plates. The wigwams are in their own ‘village’ and are very popular, open 12 months of the year.

Our three boutique cottages offer Four Star Gold accommodation of the highest standard. Humble Bee Cottage is a converted 200-year-old granary with two storeys. Equipped with a welcoming log burning stove, and fully equipped kitchen and en-suite facilities in traditional decor, Humble Bee Cottage is a heavenly place to have your holiday.

Our two other cottages, Merry Dale and Swallow’s Nest, converted from former stables, offer single storey accommodation including log burning stoves, hot tubs with gazebos and secluded patios, superb contemporary furnishings and en-suite facilities. Where possible, we have also installed under floor heating, WiFi access, iPod docks and satellite TV plus other modern luxuries to help make your stay as wonderful as possible.

We also have our superb self-catering holiday apartment St Kitts, at The Beach, Filey, sleeping up to 7 people. Please ask for details!
