Description of site. Cwmdu Caravan and Camping Site lies at the foot of the Black Mountains at the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This peaceful site is an ideal base from which to explore the most beautiful parts of South and Mid Wales. Walking, to suit young and old, can be undertaken directly from the site, while activities such as pony trekking, fishing, caving, climbing and canoeing are all available within a few miles. The Cwmdu Valley is a paradise for birdwatchers with kites, ravens, buzzards etc. often seen. Slightly further lie the small, delightful market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon, while within half an hour's driving lie the "Valleys" famous for places such as Big Pit - the National Mining Museum. Hereabouts there is a veritable treasure-trove of interesting attractions such as Blaenavon - birthplace of the Industrial Revolution - and today designated as a "World Heritage Site". |
