The Anchor Inn is situated on the side of the Shropshire Union Canal approximately 4 miles from Newport (Shropshire). Run by the same family for over 100 years. This tiny inn still contains the original tables and settles with the beer still being fetched by jug straight from the cellar. An ideal base for visiting the surrounding area including Ironbridge, Bridgenorth, Shrewsbury and the potteries or just a perfect spot for a relaxing break. Nearby attractions include Cosford Aircraft Museum, Bridgemere Garden World, Western Park, Shugborough Hall and Alton Towers is approximately 50 minutes away. Stafford County Show Ground about 20 minutes away. Stafford in Bloom Winner 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007, Gardener of the Year 2003. CAMRA pub of the year 2000, Pub of the Month Dec 2006 (Stafford and Stone Branch). Two fields one of which is a CL with hookups for Caravan Club members, the other is for camping and non Caravan Club members with 8 hookups for caravans.

Directions to site:

Leave the M6 at junction 14. Take the A5013 (signposted Eccleshall). At Great Bridgeford turn left onto the B5405 towards Woodseaves. Continue to end of road and turn right (A519) In approximately 100 yards turn left (High Offley Road). Continue into High Offley. 200 yards past church turn left into Peggs Lane, over canal bridge and the Anchor Inn is on the left.
