Description of site - Camp Laurent is an English run Campsite offered Exclusively for adults in the Charente. The site is nestled in 8 acres of beautiful Charente countryside. Camp Laurent is a small and peaceful rural caravan, motorhome and camping site, with only 10 pitches and many acres to enjoy. Camp Laurent is perfectly situated for our guests to soak up the ambience of this region while enjoying peace and tranquility at our site.
The campsite borders the River Charente with great views over the valley, open fields and oak woodland where you can enjoy a gentle stroll down to the river. Camp Laurent with it's panoramic views and natural setting allows you to take full advantage of our long sunny days and beautiful clear starry night skies. And do not forget our fabulous pool to enjoy the many hot summer days here at Camp Laurent, the perfect place to spend a relaxing camping trip.
The site offers an above ground pool for our guest to cool down in, Bike hire is available on a pre-booked basis where you can enjoy the many cycle routes on offer locally including route 48 which is located on our doorstep. We offer IGN Maps for walking through the local countryside. We offer free WIFI covering the complete camping field. Our Tourist center also offer tourist information and some small outdoor games including ping pong and the classic French game Petanque.
Camp Laurent is perfectly situated to explore all the beauty of the region including Angouleme, Poitier and Limoges, the long sunny days with cloudless blue skies, the peaceful unspoilt countryside with its fields of sunflowers, beautiful honey-coloured stone houses with terracotta roofs nestling in tranquil hamlets, the rivers, the food, the wine.
Our local village of St-Laurent-de-Ceris offers a Boulangerie for fresh bread and croissants. There is also ‘Le Saint Laurent’ our local restaurant. Within 10 minutes of Camp Laurent you may find many quaint villages where you can buy food and local produce and dine out from a small Creperie to a Michelin Star restaurant set in the grounds of a chateau.
Our nearest big town is Confolens which was built around a fortress first mentioned in the eleventh century. It still has picturesque remnants of its medieval past, including city walls and several houses dating from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. It also features a bridge first mentioned in the fourteenth century. Here you can find cycling, fishing, shopping, restaurants, etc. The Haute Charente lakes offer an inland beach and swimming lakes, hundreds of kilometers of walking and cycling routes.
Horseback riding and fishing are also offered. The boating lake offers windsurfing, dinghy, catamaran, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, and mountain bikes ... all in an exceptional setting. Let's not forget the many beautiful chateau's to visit including La Rochefoucauld & Rochechouart.
